Also,
1. In dmesg check if the following lines are present:

> usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using crisv32_hc and address 2

> hub 1-1:1.0: USB hub found
> hub 1-1:1.0: 4 ports detected
> usb 1-1.3: new full speed USB device using crisv32_hc and address 3
> usb 1-1.3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
> cp2101 1-1.3:1.0: cp2101 converter detected
> usb 1-1.3: reset full speed USB device using crisv32_hc and address 3
> usb 1-1.3: cp2101 converter now attached to ttyUSB0
> IMU_ctl_open


2. Could you first check the voltage level that goes to the receiver? 5V or
3.3V? Should be 5V.
And it's ok if you open the camera carefully.
