[Elphel-support] RS-485 from an Elphel

So here comes this RS-485 question again!
We want to implement an RS-485 node served from an Elphel 10353 camera.
Andrey has correctly pointed out in the past that a USB to RS-485 converter
is likely the best hardware solution. This option would require the 10369
interface board.
Due to our extreme space constraints I am planing on using the SparkFun BOB
09822 USB to RS-485 converter.
Is this FT232RL USB UART supported in the Elphel Kernel?
What is the access method for reading data from this converter?
Is there a way to make it a virtual com port in windows?
