are still using the older, more tested revision.

Yes, Michael is right - the linescan mode code was resurrected at 8.0.8.7 so
you need to upgrade the firmware.

Can you follow the instructions on
http://wiki.elphel.com/index.php?title=Elphel_Software_Kit_for_Ubuntu and
install the development software?

Current version is 8.0.9 - the only difference to the stable 8.0.8.48 (we
used it for 2.5 months) is the support of the 4K sector disks, all the
camera functionality is the same.
