I wonder what you want to protect. Do you want to shield the Elphel from 
the VLF or shield the VLF from the Elphel? ;)

Any USB soundcard uses the same ISO protocol. So anyone from DealExtreme 
will work.

You have to postprocess the images at your host system (by lan) anyway if 
you want RAW recording...
