[Elphel-support] Phanom 1:00 mov's?

I've been doing a bit of investigating, and have a theory as to what might be happening here.  Perhaps someone could tell me if this sounds like it might indeed be the problem, and - more importantly - how to solve it?

Basically, when I issue the "start" command to camogm, it looks like it's taking everything in the circbuf, and creating a .mov for it.  The only reason it's splitting it into multiple files is because the "max file duration" is set to 60 sec (the default).  When I hit "Record", the camogmgui "status" area goes crazy for a few seconds, as I'm guessing it's desperately dumping the contents of the circbuf into .mov files.  The "status" area then settles down, as I'm guessing the cirbuf has either been emptied, or camogm has "caught up".

If it sounds like I'm right, can anyone suggest why this might be happening?  When "start" is issued to camogm, shouldn't it just start grabbing cirbuf frames from the current position - not the whole thing?  Does camogm "start" use timestamps to determine where in the circbuf to start from, thus making this maybe a timestamp issue?

Any ideas as to how I can prevent this from happening in the future?  I'm not 100% crystal as to what it does, but perhaps sending a "reset" to camogm right before the "start" will help?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.  I was planning on using the Elphel for something important in just two days, but this strange behavior has me worried that it might not work...

  I'm using camogmgui to record just a 10 second clip.  I hit record, recording seems to start (based on status updates on the screen), and I hit stop about 10 seconds later.


  However, when I look on the disk, there are 3-5 mov's there.  On top of that, all but one of them are 60 seconds long - and play in VLC for 60 seconds - despite that I only recorded for about 10 seconds. 


  The only thing slightly strange about what I'm doing is that I used the PHP extension to change the resolution to 32x608 pixels.


  Hopefully someone can provide some insight as to what's going on...
