What is the minimal period between external trigger pulses? Did you try to
reduce the pulse rate - does it help?

Did you try http://camera_ip/parsedit.php? With it it is possible to record
and then visualize the sequence of frames together with parameters applied
to each frame. It starts compressor, then changes parameters as instructed,
then stops compressor so the circular buffer will not be overwritten. And
then lets you analyze the recorder images.
