Carlos,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GUID_Partition_Table = GPT ;)

gparted use GPT by default, but you can specify another type of partition. I am not sure, but I think it should be called msdos partition table.

Regards,
Alexandre

| | What program did you use for formatting? What options does it have?
|
| i used gparted. I never managed about GPT or other partition tables

| googling for info i can only find about GUID, Apple partition map,
| BSD disklabel... what should be our disk partition type?

| if i had to do the format only from the camera, i must wait to have a
| new hdd

| | I'd just follow our guide for formatting the HDD from the camera.
|

| | Yes, you can have several partitions.
|

| | Best regards,
|
| | Oleg

| | | | Hi Carlos,
| | |
| |
|

| | | | It may be that you have partitioned it as GPT partitions.
| | |
| |
|

| | | | Best regards,

| | | | | hi oleg
| | | |
| | |
| |
|

| | | | | now i have removed again the internal hdd and want to try the
| | | | | external sata.
| | | |
| | |
| |
|

| | | | | i have an external hdd with two partitions:
| | | |
| | |
| |
|

| | | | | dev/sdc1 344gb ext4
| | | |
| | |
| |
|
| | | | | dev/sdc2 121gb ext2
| | | |
| | |
| |
|

| | | | | i want to use the second one, i formatted it not to big
| | | | | (120gb,
| | | | | as
| | | | | the internal). I formatted the ext2 in my computer, not in
| | | | | camera...
| | | |
| | |
| |
|

| | | | | i get this in the boot log:

| | | | | dont know if it is detecting the right partition. It's right

| | | | | use
| | | | | an hdd with more than one partition?

| | |
| |
|

| | | | | thanks again.
