There have been several developments:

1.
The autoexposure deamon can alternate exposure times quicky meaning
you can go full fps and have exposure bracketing. Check the HDR_*
parameters in parsedit.
You can record this HDR-video just like normal video with camogm.

2.
You can do exposure bracketing manually with a php script.
Just set exposure time, capture single frame, change exposure time,
capture another image, etc.
This will be slower than 1. of course but you have better control over
how many brackets you want, etc.

3.
JP4-HDR is a special image format that can capture a higher dynamic
range. Though the post processing code to develop the images does not
really exist yet as far as I know.
