you're right, it's not writable to anyone:

than again, none of the documentation points out for this to be writable.

I'll try again tomorrow (it's about 1:20 am here right now) to see if
this makes any difference. my assumption based on the netboot wiki page
was, that it first reboots the camera, then it would access the nfs
share.. (maybe my understanding is wrong, the process is not very
clearly documented)
