Maybe you can install Kubuntu 9.10 as described on
http://wiki.elphel.com/index.php?title=Elphel_Software_Kit_for_Ubuntu ? This
(and the 9.04) is the distro we are testing ourselves so it may be easier to
setup. And sure we will be happy to get some contributed recommendations
about other distributions.

With (K)Ubuntu 9.10 there is still unresolved issue - how to run KDevelop 3
on it - KDevelop 4 still lacks some needed features and uses completely
different project file (and can not import KDevelop 3 project).
